My mother was from Belfast so I know the score and the songs of both sides.

Irony of course is something that is poorly understood in Jersey. There are far too many who see things literally.

I am glad you appreciated the allusion – banners (from 2008), old, but still fine and beautiful.
Nick Le Cornuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14983215673635966459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556145924493162530.post-48835389567914233872014-02-18T18:32:30.158+00:002014-02-18T18:32:30.158+00:00"for it`s old and it is beautiful and it`s co..."for it`s old and it is beautiful and it`s colours they are fine" well Nick, I would not expect you to know this but that is the opening line of the "SASH" a hardcore protestant song favoured by Scottish Rangers supporters. No politician will get a vote from any Irish or Scottish Celtic supporters or Catholics come to that if they hear these lines!
I am deadly serious.

yAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556145924493162530.post-17190246001189928882014-02-15T23:21:58.976+00:002014-02-15T23:21:58.976+00:00I don't live in your district but I hope you g...I don't live in your district but I hope you get in. That made me smile. I'm not a voter in the district but I'd vote for you for that commitment alone. You are first out the blocks, agile and decisive. What's not to like?

Although I'm an affluent, middle class, right wing Tory I still think the States Assembly needs you and Sam Mezec for your commitment to social justice and, quite simply, the fact that the pair of you obviously have a very powerful brain (each) between those ears. The Jersey establishment should use your talents, not denigrate you. I'm also sick to the back teeth of listening to a States Assembly where the quality of the speeches is risible. I enjoy listening to you and Sam even if I disagree with you because the pair of you deliver an intelligent debate.

Anyway, good luck, hope you get in. Word on the street is that all the new residents at Castle Quay will be targeted; there is no reason you could not be successful there, so long as you show support for our main industry (the good bits of it) as well as social justice. Put to bed all these myths about Nick the Red and you are sorted.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
